Stephen Ministry
Grace Lutheran’s Stephen Ministry is a response to God’s love and Jesus’ command to “Love one another, even as I have loved you.” (John 15:12) Stephen Ministers are trained congregation members to answer this call by “being there” for people who need a caring presence during the struggles of life. They are ready to come alongside individuals—or their friends, neighbors, coworkers, or relatives—and provide comfort and support when needed. By establishing one-to-one caring and confidential relationships with their Stephen Minister, these individuals receive the love and care they need to support them through difficult times.
Stephen Ministers commit to serving for at least 2 years, receive 50 hours of training and meet with a care receiver for an hour each week. If you are interested in becoming a part of this ministry at Grace or if you would like to explore receiving the care and support of a Stephen Minister yourself please contact the church office at 217-522-3965.
