Chancel Choir

At Grace, we are blessed by the worship leadership of many dedicated musicians in our Chancel Choir, Handbell Choir, assisting cantors, and various instrumentalists.  Here are some of the opportunities to praise God with music at  Grace Lutheran:

Chancel Choir

·         Sings Sunday 10:30 service Labor Day through May (with a 4-6 week winter break after Christmas)

·         Rehearsals are Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:00 and one hour before service we are singing.

·         New members are always welcome and needed, and you may leave choir for a portion of the year for travel, etc.

·         We wear servant robes (albs) to show we are there to serve the assembly as leaders of the singing, and we participate in processions to signify the people's entrance into God's presence during the liturgy.

Summer Choir:

·         Rehearses at 8:30, before the 9:15 service

·         Does not robe or process.

·         If you are curious about choir, summer choir is a great place

to try it on a week to week basis.

Special Event Choirs

·         Easter Vigil, Christmas Midnight, and other special concerts and feast days

Assisting Cantors

·         Lead the sung portions of the liturgy (such as the psalm and Gospel Acclamation), especially in services when a choir is not present.
