Choirs

At Grace, we are blessed by the worship leadership of many dedicated musicians in our Chancel Choir, Handbell Choir, assisting cantors, and various instrumentalists.  Here are some of the opportunities to praise God with music at Grace Lutheran:

  •

Chancel Choir

  • Sings Sunday 9:15 service Labor Day through May (with a 4-6 week winter break after Christmas)

  • Rehearsals are Wednesday nights from 6:00 PM -7:30 PM (6:30 PM in Advent and Lent) Or Thursdays from 1:15 PM to 2:45 PM and 8:30 AM Sunday morning.

  • New members are always welcome and needed, and you may leave choir for a portion of the year for travel, etc.

  • We wear servant robes (albs) of plain, unbleached linen to show we are there to serve the assembly as leaders of the singing.

Summer Choir:

  • Rehearses at 8:30, before the 9:15 service

  • No robes in summer (too hot!).

  • If you are curious about choir, summer choir is a great place to try it on a week to week basis.

Special Event Choirs

  • Easter Vigil, and other special concerts and feast days

Assisting Cantors

  • Lead the sung portions of the liturgy (such as the psalm and Gospel Acclamation), especially in services when a choir is not present.

Instrumental Ensembles

  • Instrumentalists of all kinds are encouraged to offer their skills in leading worship. In addition to piano and organ, band and orchestra instruments, as well as guitar, bass, and various percussion instruments are frequently a part of our liturgies. Please speak with Cantor JB George about your willingness to offer your gifts.
